If you’re planning a family beach vacation and trying to decide between Beaches Negril in Jamaica and Beaches Turks & Caicos, you’re not alone. These two resorts are both part of the award-winning Beaches Resorts brand, known for offering luxurious, all-inclusive getaways that cater to families with kids of all ages.
But which one is truly the best? The answer depends on what you’re looking for. Let’s break it down by category to help you choose the right resort for your next tropical escape.
1. Beach Quality
Beaches Negril: Located on Seven Mile Beach, one of the most famous beaches in the Caribbean. The sand is soft, the water is warm and calm, and the sunsets are incredible. The beach here is long and walkable and the water is shallow, making it safe for little ones to play and swim.
Beaches Turks & Caicos: Situated on Grace Bay Beach, consistently ranked among the top beaches in the world. The water is a surreal turquoise, incredibly clear, and ideal for swimming or snorkeling. The beach is pristine and wide with powdery white sand.
Winner: Beaches Turks & Caicos — it edges out Negril for its postcard-perfect turquoise water and global acclaim.
2. Dining Options
Beaches Negril: Offers 10 restaurants, ranging from casual beachside grills and food trucks to upscale dining. You’ll find everything from jerk chicken to sushi to Italian, but the selection is more compact. However, we find that the the food quality is consistently better at this resort.
Beaches Turks & Caicos: A culinary paradise with 21 restaurants and 15 bars. This includes a French patisserie, Indian cuisine, a sushi bar, wood-fired pizza, food trucks, and more. It’s basically a global food court for families and with its expansion in 2026, even more is to come!
Winner: Beaches Turks & Caicos — the best for foodies and families who want endless variety.
3. Pools & Water Parks
Beaches Negril: Features 3 pools, 3 whirlpools, and the fun-but-smaller Pirates Island Waterpark, which includes slides, a lazy river, and splash zones. It’s great for younger kids but not as expansive. It's also in need of updating, which is hard to do when the resort is so busy so often.
Beaches Turks & Caicos: Has 10 pools, multiple whirlpools, and the largest Pirates Island Waterpark in the Caribbean. There are huge slides, surf simulators, water cannons, and a 650-foot lazy river. Bonus points: The splash zone was renovated in 2024.
Winner: Beaches Turks & Caicos — bigger, more diverse, and better suited for kids of all ages, including adventurous tweens and teens.
4. Rooms & Accommodations
Beaches Negril: Renovated in recent years, with new family suites that sleep up to 12 or more. The property is smaller and more walkable, making it easy for families to get around, especially if you have young children.
Beaches Turks & Caicos: Huge variety of room categories, from standard hotel rooms to several multi-bedroom villas with private butlers. Perfect for large or multigenerational families — but the size of the resort can be overwhelming for some.
Winner: Tie. Choose Beaches Negril for a more intimate and walkable setup. Choose Turks & Caicos for space, luxury, and larger groups.
5. Kids’ & Teens’ Activities
Both resorts offer:
Kids camps with certified nannies
Sesame Street characters
Xbox lounges
Teen clubs
Watersports
Crafts, games, and more
Beaches Negril offers a wonderful newly built state-of-the-art kids camp. Our kids (ages 4 years and 8 months) got to experience it in 2023, and it was a great experience for both of our kids and us parents.
Beaches Turks & Caicos offers more space and options, making it better suited for older kids and teens who like to explore and be independent. This resort boasts an expanded waterpark, larger Xbox game garage, Shadow Lounge for kids, and more pool options. Plus, there are two kids camp locations on property.
Winner: Beaches Turks & Caicos — more variety, especially for older kids and tweens.
6. Best for Multigenerational Families
Beaches Negril: Easier to navigate for grandparents or toddlers, and still has plenty to do. The smaller size makes it easier for families to stay connected and not feel spread out.
Beaches Turks & Caicos: Offers the space, room categories, and activity options to keep everyone happy. Older guests may find this large the resort hard to navigate.
Winner: Beaches Turks & Caicos — best for large families who want both space and activities, as long as mobility isn’t an issue.
7. Price & Value
Beaches Negril: Generally more affordable. Flights to Jamaica are often cheaper, and the smaller size means you can get more value for your money.
Beaches Turks & Caicos: Premium pricing for the scale, luxury, and variety. Expect higher rates and often limited availability.
Winner: Beaches Negril — better for budget-conscious families without sacrificing quality.
